The Christmas Season

There has never been a time in my life where The Christmas Season hasn’t had a magical effect on me. Christmas itself is magical. How much more precious can Christmas be? To have been given the greatest gift on Heaven or Earth. Christmas is about Christ. I am not politically correct nor will I ever be. When I was growing up in Kansas City, my parents made Christmas everything that Christmas should be. We were involved with our Church, Christmas Eve Programs, going Caroling with our youth groups. Since my birthday falls the first week of December, all year long I would save my babysitting money, birthday money, any money that I earned and our parents would always give each of us (kids) and there were four of us $25.00 to buy gifts for others. On my birthday I would always choose to go Christmas Shopping in Kansas City and get all of my shopping done, then have a ham salad sandwich and a cherry coke at Katz’s Drug Store. I loved that time. The older I get the more I appreciate how wonderful those times were, how innocent. One of the greatest gifts my parents gave their children was the gift of loving to give. I hope I have passed that on to my kids.

This year we have an additional reason for being thankful. Bella and Augies puppies are due to be born from 8-13 days from now. Birth, now if that’s not magical and a gift I don’t know what it. We have alot to Thank God for this year. Sometimes it’s easy to think about what you don’t have and worry. This year I’m going to concentrate of being grateful for everything I do have. God is at work in our lives, He has been and will continue to be. Think of all the words that apply to Christmas; Joy, Peace, Love, Faith, Hope, and the greatest of these is “Love”.
Merry Christmas to you all, and may God grant you Blessings abundantly this coming year 2011.
